50%, probably only because of the time and investment involved combined with being an agent and handling clients can probably be time consuming. Just my humble opinion though
I’d go even less, for the same reasons. Most of the agents I have dealt with never mention investing, because they are so caught up with selling me the property, although some of them are starting to realise that investors are becoming a much larger proportion of the potential buyers.
I would guess the number would have been lower. Very few agents I know invest in Real Estate. A wise man once told me, you don’t make money selling it, you make your money owning it. Never forgot what he said.
Well, I’m an agent and currently working to get my brokers license, but I am an investor. I have been since a year after I started in real estate. Been in the business now for 8 years. I currently own 15 properties. But yes I know of very few agents and even brokers who invest. I don’t know why. Must be a fear factor or lack of knowledge. I’ve come across many agents who should not be in the business.

Something I’ve always been curious about. Do most agents practice what they preach? What percentage of agents invest in real estate?
I would love to hear opinions.

Thats a good question. Hard to answer. My guess would be that 80-90% own a home, 60% own multiple properties.

I think agents are becoming more aware of the value in connecting with investors. Perhaps thats why so many of the members here are agents…
