Basic Credit Report Breakdown

erik c. Posted by erik c. on Aug 20, 2009 4:30am

Thought I would expand upon my earlier post in the forums about my

What I found:
Best site to start with for your free report is:
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/

They pull from the 3 top

http://www.equifax.com/
http://www.transunion.com/
http://www.experian.com/

The most promoted one these days is easily the catchy commercial with the guys singing the tune. (all at once) http://www.freecreditreport.com. Which I was surprise to learn is owned by Experian.

The best source I found to make the descision to go with annualcreditreport was from this consumer report:

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Aug 17, 2009 8:38pm

Hi, everyone. Big changes are in the works for the Flipping Pad. We are attempting to add a new member to the team, an experienced community builder / web marketer. If you’re interested, or know of a possible candidate, drop us a line in the forums or via email. In addition to a new team leader, we are working on some major networking upgrades. You’ll each get a chance to vote for what we add in an upcoming member poll. Stay tuned!

And stop by Peter Kolat’s site when you get a chance. There are some interesting posts on RE.net, including one that mentions The Flipping Pad.

Top 50 Ways to Market Real Estate Online

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Aug 10, 2007 6:07pm

A few more press clippings.

Top 50 Ways to Market Real Estate Online :: We’re excited to have made this list. My favorite newcomer is Postlets. Their free service allows you to post your listing on multiple classifieds with a single click. Do you have a favorite? Special thanks to Trulia for including us!

condoDomain {the blog} :: The best resource for those of you interested in flipping condos. It’s an extremely popular blog with some well thought out pieces on the multi-unit real estate industry.

Flipping Rich :: An often humorous slant on the real estate industry. They’re located in the Twin Cities, but very much a growing site. It’s a unique perspective and we appreciate their honest debates.

Mashable and BayAreaREI.com

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Jul 25, 2007 4:14am

We’ve got a couple thank you notes for yah this week, and added the blog to Technorati.

Yesterday, the folks at Mashable posted a review of the site. Mashable is a Top 100 blog and the best resource for all things social networking. If your a fan of the Flipping Pad, stop by Mashable to find other useful social networks.

In addition to the bi-monthly pad contest, this month, we’ll also be noting a featured member on the blog every week (hopefully generating that user some real estate related press, links, or leads). This weeks featured member is Josh. Visit Josh’s newest venture, www.bayarearei.com for some great info on flipping homes in the San Francisco Bay Area. Hopefully we can coax Josh into contributing a few more pads and insightful forum posts…

Carnival of Real Estate Investing #2

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Jun 25, 2007 6:03am

We’re proud to be hosting another edition of the Carnival of Real Estate Investing. Since the last hosting of the Carnival, the site has grown 25+ members. I’m assuming many of those members are new to the real estate investing business.

This weeks winning submission is directed to the beginners out there. New investors commonly underestimate the costs of a flip, including their own time.

Carnival of Real Estate Investing #1

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Jun 11, 2007 6:49am

After sifting through the submissions for this week’s Carnival of Real Estate Investing, three blog posts caught our eye. We chose posts that align with our site’s overall message of responsible real estate investing.

The standout article: Doughroller. There seems to be a lot of confusion in the media regarding real estate investing, bubbles and market conditions. It’s important to recognize the differences between speculation and investment.

Review Roundup #2

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on May 28, 2007 2:06am

Special thanks to Pat at the Transparent Real Estate Blog for reviewing the site this past week. His comparison inspired us to push forward with further community features.

We hope to have each new feature ready for our self-imposed 300 member milestone. Look for a member survey in the coming weeks. We’d like our current community to propose / vote for features they think would be the most useful as the Flipping Pad grows.

Don’t forget to post your pad for the upcoming June 1st Pad Contest!

Review Roundup #1

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on May 20, 2007 10:21pm

Erik @ <a href"http://www.eppraisal.com/">eppraisal wrote an insightful review of the site this past week. In response to his blog post we added the public email address now available in your profile. We’d like to encourage our users to check our Erik’s home valuation tool (think zillow.com) while preparing for the next flip.

Alex @ <a href"http://www.eppraisal.com/">sfnewsletter provided some healthy criticism of the site regarding the localized nature of the RE industry. His insights will guide us in future feature additions (we’ve been saving our members zip codes for reason). Sfnewsletter provides email marketing for Real Estate agents / brokers. Email marketing campaigns are cheap and effective when one utilizes professional copywriting and design. Check out Alex’s site for more info.

Read the reviews in the “About Us” section.

Pad Contest #1

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on May 15, 2007 8:08pm

Bi-monthly Contest! Our friends at the Home Depot have graciously offered a bi-monthly prize to the member with the highest rated pad on the site.

The Prize :: $100 gift certificate

The first round will end on June 1 and each winner will be announced every two weeks thereafter while they provide the certificates. $100 isn’t bad, but we’ll keep the pressure on for a higher reward.

Emily’s blog is a hotbed of activity for innovative web companies. We are excited to have made the cut!

In other news, we’re working on partnerships with a few RE industry leading bloggers to help guide our site and users through the murky waters of investing.

A little about us...

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on May 11, 2007 2:55am

How we got started?

We were fed up with most of the current real estate investing communities. While a few offer a wealth of information, we got lost in the shuffle. Our goal was to create a place to share and discuss real estate investing. Nothing less and not much more. We want the site to have an open discourse. Post your projects, post prospects for others, find partners and get “objective” advice.

The Flipping Pad promotes responsible investing through shared knowledge. You’ll always get both sides of the coin!

Cheers

When someone is really reading and researching, the last thing they want is distraction. We all know how to do a search for what we want. Magazine ads don’t jump of the pages. TV commercials don’t change channels.
We just accept the fact that on the internet we should expect it. Not!!!
I might be reading about Real Estate and “POP” we are being suduced to check out the latest weight loss pill. I do not like it. How about you. This site is great, I have read every post in 3 days. Thank you Flipping Pad for the simple format.

Open Call for Moderators?

Ryan T. Posted by Ryan T. on Apr 23, 2007 5:35pm

Want to be a member of the Flipping Pad team?

We are looking for a few seasoned flippers / investors to help moderate the site. In return for your time, you’ll receive some perks! We would prefer to have 3 investors with varying expertise. One for Rehabs, One for Wholesales and One for everything else

Please reply to the topic in the forum if your interested.

Cheers
